Perth Glory hits the road in week six of the PS4 NPLWA when it travels south to Kelly’s Hot Water Community Stadium on Saturday to take on newly-promoted Mandurah City.

Last week’s narrow loss against Champions Perth SC was a disappointing result, but the performance was outstanding.

The performances of youngsters Callum Timmins, Luca Bodnar, Walter Scott, Jack Leech and Yacoub Mustafa, showed the talent and the depth of the squad.

They were led fantastically by the experience and influence of Daniel Stynes, Jack Iredale, Joe Knowles, Jordan Thurtell and Kosta Petratos.

Leech ran the show in midfield in the first half and said it was probably their best half of football this season.

“Last week’s result was very disappointing but we have many positives to take from it as the performance especially in the first half was very good,” he explained.

“Some of the football we played was outstanding especially against the quality of Perth the champions of last season, I’d say it was our best team performance so far this season.

Head Coach John Gibson said Saturday’s opponents in Mandurah will be desperate to get their first win on their return to the top flight of WA football.

“The league is full of very good experienced players’ and coaches, so we always expect another tough tests and challenges, like every week in this challenging competition,” he said.

“There were many positives from last week’s game at Perth, where the players gave everything, but ultimately a 15 minute lapse cost us dearly, in what was a dominant performance. Our biggest challenge is the level of consistency with our performance’.

“We were really pleased with how the younger players have adapted to senior football from junior football and to see them compete against a side like Perth was great to see.

“We go into the Mandurah game in a confident mood, we want to be competitive and we’ve shown this season we are.

Kick-off to the match is at 3pm
