Glory v Celtic: tickets on sale to the public from today

Tickets to the much anticipated pre-season friendly between European giants Celtic and Perth Glory, to be played nib Stadium on July 9, go on sale to the public from today.

Tickets to the much anticipated pre-season friendly between European giants Celtic and Perth Glory, to be played nib Stadium on July 9, go on sale to the public from today.

More than 6,000 tickets have already been sold as part of the three day priority period for existing members, meaning less than 15,000 tickets are now available to the general public.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response to this game, with more than a quarter of the available tickets sold during the short priority period,” said Perth Glory CEO, Mr Paul Kelly.

“In addition to the tickets sold during the priority period, we have had strong interest from throughout Australia and Asia, which we expect to convert into ticket sales as soon as they go on sale to the public.

“The demand is such that we believe it could be a record for a nib Stadium crowd, which is great for the Perth Glory, but more importantly the prominence of the game in Western Australia,” he added.

A range of ticket classes remain for this game, with prices ranging from $39 to $99 and a limited number of special family packages (2 Adults and 2 children) available for $99.

“We have priced this game so that we get a bumper crowd along to watch one of Europe’s most prominent teams,” Mr Kelly added.

The 2011 Scottish FA Cups winners will arrive in Perth with a star studded squad including champion Honduran defender Emilio Izaguirre, Greek striker Giorgios Samaras and club captain Scott Brown.

The blockbuster will also be the first chance for Perth Glory fans to see the club-s eight new signings including star striker Shane Smeltz, Travis Dodd and Danny Vukovic in action.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public from 9am (AWST) today, Monday 30 May 2011. They can be purchased at any Ticketmaster location, via the Ticketmaster website, www.ticketmaster.com.au or by calling 136 100.
