Glory trio Chris Ikonomidis, Rachel Hill and Sam Kerr are among eight nominees for the PFA Player of the Month awards for December.

Ikonomidis, who is currently away on Socceroos duty at the Asian Cup, scored twice during his four appearances last month to take his tally for the season to six and was also a nominee for the award in November.

The 23-year-old has already received an individual honour this season after being named the NAB Young Footballer of the Year nominee for October/November.

His fellow-nominees for the PFA award are Victory duo Terry Antonis and Ola Toivonen and Wellington’s Sarpreet Singh.

Hill, meanwhile, has built on her stellar debut campaign last year with another string of impressive displays for Bobby Despotovski’s side and currently leads the league for assists with four, having also scored the same amount of goals.

And Glory skipper Kerr remains the Westfield W-League’s standout striker, once again leading the race for the Golden Boot with nine goals, five of which came in the month of December.

Hill and Kerr’s fellow-nominees are Christine Nairn of Melbourne Victory and Adelaide striker Veronica Latsko who scored twice for the Reds against Glory when the two sides met in Round 6.

Nominated by an awards committee comprising former players and leading figures in the Australian football media, the nominees are voted on by PFA members from both competitions.

The players receiving the highest number of votes from their peers are awarded the PFA Player of the Month award.
