Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that defender Dane Ingham and forward Nick D’Agostino have both signed two-year deals with the club.

The duo, who were teammates at Brisbane Roar, joined the rest of the Glory squad for pre-season training earlier this week.

A senior New Zealand international with seven caps to his name, 20-year-old Ingham is a versatile defender who can play on either the right or the left and made 19 appearances during his three seasons with Roar.

21-year-old D’Agostino, meanwhile, is a similarly versatile player who can operate anywhere across the forward line and in addition to 35 A-League games for Brisbane, has also represented Australia at both Under-17 and Under-23 level.

Both new signings are excited at the prospect of helping Glory build upon last season’s Premiership success.

“After such a good year, it’s clear that the club is moving in an upwards direction,” said Ingham.

“That made my decision really easy when I found out that the club was keen to bring me over.

“Hopefully I can start as many games as possible and add some depth to the squad.”

“I’m very excited and have come here to improve as a footballer,” said D’Agostino.

“Tony Popovic is a great manager who gets the best out of players, especially young players.

“He’s promised to get the best out of me and hopefully I can help the club go one step further and win the Grand Final this season.

“I’m a Manchester United fan, so I’d be very thrilled to be involved in that game if I can.

“It’s been a quick little process [the move to Glory] and I’m glad it’s happened.

“There’s a good group of boys here and they’ve made me feel very welcome.”

Perth Glory CEO Tony Pignata believes that the double signing is another example of the club’s ambition to challenge for honours on a regular basis.

“Sustained success is only possible if the squad is improved year-in, year-out,” he said, “and we believe that the addition of Dane and Nick does exactly that.”

Football Director Jacob Burns, meanwhile, feels that the duo have the potential to make a big impact over the next two years.

“They are both young, talented, versatile players who already have some solid experience behind them and are hungry for success,” he said.

“Their ability and ambition make them a great fit for our squad and we are delighted to have them on board.”

Today’s double-signing takes Glory’s tally of new recruits to three following the arrival of Bruno Fornaroli earlier this year.

In other squad news, Tando Velaphi has signed a new, one-year deal with the club, while defenders Jason Davidson and Scott Neville have both departed and joined Ulsan Hyundai and Brisbane Roar respectively.
