Perth Glory is delighted to announce that midfielder Morgan Andrews has joined the club for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 Season (subject to international clearance).

A former US Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 international, Andrews has spent the last three seasons playing in the US National Women’s Soccer League, most recently with Reign FC where she was a teammate of fellow-new Glory recruit, Celia.

The 24-year-old, who hails originally from New Hampshire, also enjoyed a stellar collegiate career during which she represented both Notre Dame and the University of Southern California before making her NWSL debut with Boston Breakers in 2017.

Andrews’ move to Glory represents her first experience of playing overseas and she cannot wait for the new Westfield W-League campaign to get underway.

“I am beyond excited to be playing for Perth Glory and I look forward to competing for a championship alongside the players, staff, and fans,” she said.

“I look forward to challenging myself to be better as a player and person and to help guide the team back to the championship game (Grand Final).

“The team is an accomplished squad and I hope to play an attractive and aggressive game, day in and day out.

“I have many teammates from the Reign FC who play throughout the league and it’s known for it’s competitive culture and enjoyable soccer.

“My goal personally, is to continue to develop as a player as well as have a great impact for the team and I look forward to being an integral part of the attack for Perth.” â€‹â€‹â€‹

Glory Head Coach Bobby Despotovski believes that Andrews’ skill-set makes her a perfect fit for his side.

“Morgan is a very talented defensive midfielder who also likes to push on and shoot and create things in the final third,” he said.

“She’s very tough and very energetic and I’m sure she’ll be a major player for us this year.”

Further Westfield W-League player announcements are expected in the coming days.
