Perth Glory has continued to bolster its squad with young West Australians, signing Brandon O-Neill and Ndumba Makeche for the next two Hyundai A-League seasons.

O-Neill, 18-years old and Makeche 20, both made their debuts in the lead-up to the club-s recent finals campaign.

“Absolutely delighted,” was O-Neill-s reaction.

“To go into last season as a Youth team player and then get my debut in the starting line-up for the senior squad was incredible.”

O-Neill played three games in total for the season and even got a taste of finals Football when he was a late substitute against Melbourne Heart.

A centre midfielder, O-Neill says the chance to now train full-time alongside former internationals Jacob Burns and Liam Miller will play a big role in his development as a player.

Born in Zambia, Makeche is also coming off a stellar season with Glory Youth. Makeche scored 8 goals in his first year with the Youth team and like O-Neill is looking forward to the next challenge.

“Firstly, I am really proud to sign for Perth Glory,” Makeche said.

“To play Football with this club means a lot to me and I-m keen to do my best.

“We have great strikers at Perth Glory with Shane Smeltz and Billy Mehmet and I-m excited by the challenges ahead.”

Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson said he was delighted to add more young talent to his squad.

“Both Brandon and Ndumba have been excellent and took their chance at the end of the season,” Ferguson said.

“Getting some young local talent into the squad was always a priority and we are happy to have both players at Perth Glory.”

The signatures of O-Neill and Makeche follow the additions of 19 year-old Chris Harold and 21-year old Adrian Zahra earlier in the week.
