Perth Glory are back in action when they entertain Balcatta at Ashfield Reserve on Saturday afternoon in Round 4 of the PS4 National Premier League WA.

After rescheudling last weeken’ds game against Joondalup United due to extreme heat, head coach John Gibson says the boys have trained hard this week ahead of a tough encouter against Balcatta.

“We have assembled a very young group and plenty of wonderful challenges lie ahead. This week will be no different as Balcatta opened their account last week against Armadale.

“As always – we concentrate on our own performance and focus on being consistently good at the process and details.”

Glory won its opening game of the season, but was edged out by Floreat last time out, even though keeper Jordan Thurtell was in outstanding form.

Thurtell, who also has a contract with the A-League team said they’d go into Saturday’s game looking for three points.

“Like any game in this league, every team has good quality, and any team can beat anyone on their day,” he said.

“But I have belief in our young squad, and I know they will give 100%, and I believe we can get a result this weekend and get back to winning ways.”

It’s a big day of football with Callum Salmon’s under 18’s taking on Balcatta at 11am, and Richard Garcia’s under 20’s at 1pm, with the first team kicking off at 3pm.
