Glory poised for cross-border raid

Glory’s Youth Team will be out to end 2019 on a high when they head across the border to face Adelaide United in Saturday’s Foxtel Youth League Round 7 fixture.

Jack Smith Park will host the clash with the Reds who are currently third in Conference A and the kick-off has been brought forward to 8am local time to avoid the worst of the heat.

Richard Garcia’s side will be looking to build upon last weekend’s encouraging 2-2 home draw with Melbourne Victory and avenge their Round One meeting with Adelaide which saw the South Australians run out 3-0 winners at Dorrien Gardens.

The Reds’ only other victory thus far this term came in Round 4 when they edged out Melbourne City, while Glory are still searching for their first three-point haul of the campaign.

Last season’s corresponding fixture, meanwhile, ended in a 2-1 win for the hosts, Gabriel Popovic grabbing Glory’s goal with three minutes left.

Following Saturday’s game, Glory are away again on January 4th, this time at Brisbane, before rounding off their Foxtel Youth League campaign by hosting Melbourne City on Sunday 26 January.
