Perth Glory Football Club-s Community and Development staff recently held Western Australia-s first Professional Development Camp (PDC) for the Glory Juniors at Wesley College.
Over 80 identified junior players from the ages of 7 - 11 participated in the week long camp designed to help improve both the player and the individual. Players were put through their paces by a highly accredited team of coaches led by Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon.
Former Perth Glory and international footballers Michael Garcia and Branko Jelic led the groups along with coaches Daniel Cappellaro and Tom Sellers. Audrey Ng, Director at Performance Pilates also presented on Health and Wellbeing together with our physiotherapist Mirella Korver.
The whole squad of Perth Glory players attended the camp to share their experiences, as did Assistant Coach Gareth Naven to view the talent on show.
“It was great meeting all the aspiring footballers, their kit looked awesome and I-m excited to watch these players develop in the future” said Jacob Burns.
Salmon commented, “We-ve had an amazing week at Wesley College, the players attitude and work rate has been first class, the football on show unbelievable at times and the Glory Juniors staff were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the week. This will definitely become a permanent fixture on the calendar as the benefits for the junior players, Perth Glory and Western Australia-s youth development has been very positive.”
