Perth Glory FC has expressed its disappointment over Football Federation Australia’s ruling which has eliminated Perth’s bid for nib Stadium to be the preferred venue for this year’s Westfield FFA Cup final.

Glory administration has been advised by FFA that the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final will be held at either AAMI Park in Melbourne OR Perth’s nib Stadium on Saturday 7 November, 2015, depending on the result of tomorrow night’s Semi-Final between Hume City and Melbourne Victory.

If Melbourne Victory FC defeat Hume City FC, the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final will be held at AAMI Park (kick-off 7:30pm AEDT).

A Hume City win in the Semi-Final will see the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final being held at nib Stadium, Perth at 4:30pm (7:30pm AEDT).

Club CEO Peter Filopoulos said it now appeared to be a ‘fait accompli’ that Perth would have to travel interstate for the second year in a row.

“We are extremely disappointed with this decision. We would have liked to have been able to host the final in front of our loyal members and fans notwithstanding tomorrow night’s result. However it now seems highly likely we will be forced to travel again after qualifying for the second consecutive year” he said.

“However we do accept FFA’s decision and look forward to facing either Hume City in Perth or Melbourne Victory in Melbourne on Saturday November 7”.

“We are delighted to have qualified for the Westfield FFA Cup Final two years in a row and our coaches and players can’t wait to play-off for the right to win our first piece of silverware in the Hyundai A-League era and add to the two Championships from our illustrious National Soccer League era” Filopoulos said.
