The morale is high amongst the squad heading into their first away trip of the season.

Glory enters their first away fixture of the season in good form following their unbeaten opening two rounds of Season 9.

Head Coach Bobby Despotovski and Assistant Coach Jessine Bonzas are certainly pleased with the start to the season, with the pair praising the all round attitude of the side.

“The camaraderie within the group, the culture and environment that the girls have created has been really special,” Bonzas revealed.

“We’re happy with the start to the season and we’re ready to take it on the road now,” she added.

With a convincing 4-2 against a competitive Wanderers outfit in Round 1 coupled with an entertaining 0-0 draw with Brisbane last weekend, the squad can’t wait for the double-header at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Despotovski has been particularly impressed with the development and performances of the new look back four, with Mexico international Arianna Romero and keeper Maizels adapting smoothly.

“We know we’ve got quality up front, but we’re building a solid base from the back,” Despotovski said.

“Once you have that solid base, it will allow your forward players to take a few more risks up front and maybe get the reward,” he added.

Despite the Jest massive 4-0 away win against Victory in Round 2, Bonzas insists the focus this week has been on improving their own game.

“The focus is on us,” she said.

“We think the other team has to worry about us to be honest,

“We’re playing pretty dynamic attacking football and it’s pretty exciting,” Bonzas added.
