Perth Glory Owner and Chairman Mr Tony Sage has accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Mr Scott Gooch after two years successfully heading the club.
Perth Glory Owner and Chairman Mr Tony Sage has accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Mr Scott Gooch after two years successfully heading the club.
Mr Sage thanked Mr Gooch for his outstanding contribution to Perth Glory where he achieved significant increases in the key off-field areas of sponsorship, membership and corporate support.
During his tenure Mr Gooch was instrumental in securing a new major sponsorship deal with QBE Insurance while he also conducted a major restructure of the club-s administration and football departments which leaves Perth Glory in a strong position to capitalise on the growth of football throughout Western Australia.
“Scott came to the club during a time of transition from the Football Federation to new owners and he diligently set about achieving our ambitious plans to reshape the club on and off the field,” said Mr Sage.
“He has set a solid foundation from which Perth Glory can continue to grow and prosper and I thank him for his hard work over the past few years,” Mr Sage said.
Mr Gooch will finish at the club at the end of April before taking a senior management position with AFL team Fremantle Dockers.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Perth Glory and it was an incredibly tough decision to leave during an exciting period for the club and the sport,” said Mr Gooch.
“I-ll continue to be a strong supporter of Perth Glory and look forward to seeing the plans we have set in place come to fruition and have full confidence in the team to steer the club to the success we-ve all worked hard to achieve,” Mr Gooch added.
Perth Glory Deputy Chairman Mr Lui Giuliani, who has been working closely with Mr Gooch and the administration team over the past two months, will be acting CEO in the short term and is the primary point of contact on operational matters.
