Perth Glory secured a maiden win in the 2020 Football West NPLWA Night Series as they downed Inglewood United 4-0 at E&D Litis Stadium.

Glory were ahead on 13 minutes when Giordano Colli’s free kick from the left found Kristian Popovic who lost his marker and headed home.

And they duly doubled their advantage early in the second half, Josh Rawlins racing into the penalty area and rolling the ball to Vince Lia, who fired into the bottom right corner.

Richard Garcia’s side added a third on 66 minutes, Colli’s corner picking out Jacob Tratt, who found the net with a powerful header.

Despite being reduced to ten men for the last 15 minutes after Nick McDonald was sent off, Glory still managed to have the final say as Rawlins found Ciaran Bramwell who chested the ball down on the run, rounded the ‘keeper and slotted into the empty net.

Bramwell, who was among Glory’s most consistent performers in the recent Foxtel Youth League campaign, was generally pleased with the team’s display against an Inglewood side that finished second in last year’s NPL.

“It was good to get our first win of the Night Series and overall it was a strong performance from the team from start to finish,” he said.

“I thought defensively we were strong and in attack we created some good chances, so overall it was good to get the three points and also get a clean sheet.”

Next up for Glory is a meeting with Balcatta at Percy Doyle Reserve on Friday 14 February, with a kick-off time of 8.30pm.

In other news, meanwhile, the fixtures for the Football West NPLWA League season have been released and Glory will host newly-promoted Gwelup Croatia in the opening round on Saturday 14 March (venue TBC).
