Perth Glory players, sponsors and corporate partners turned their attention from the football pitch to the fairway during the club-s annual Corporate Golf Day which was held at the picturesque The Links, Kennedy Bay.

The course, ranked Western Australia-s number one in 2007 by Golf Australia, provided the perfect backdrop for some great play throughout a hard fought but ultimately fun day.

It was an early start for the 21 teams who set out for a shotgun start in the four-ball Ambrose competition on a crisp Tuesday morning in February. As the sun rose to reveal the beautifully manicured fairways and greens the teams eagerly set-off from the clubhouse in a sea of carts.

There were more than a few guests that pulled out shots that belied their maximum handicap ratings while it was the Glory goal keepers who were making the big shots for the players. Defender Hayden Foxe was also in fine form taking out another of the longest drive holes and was part of the winning team from TMM Repairs.

Velaphi and the crew from Wembley Downs Soccer Club scored consistently to finish runner-up while Andrija Jukic was more than grateful to the superb play of the lads from Intercon Logistics as they grabbed third place.

Perfect weather prevailed throughout the 18 holes and the successful day ended with a gourmet BBQ and awards ceremony that saw TMM repairs get their hands on the new Glory Golf Day perpetual cup for 2009.
