The 2019/20 Foxtel Y-League campaign moved a step closer today with the release of the confirmed fixture-list by FFA.

And Glory have a first-up home clash to look forward to as they welcome Adelaide United to Dorrien Gardens on Sunday 17 November (10.30am kick off).

Back-to-back trips to Melbourne follow for Richard Garcia’s side, with City providing the opposition on Saturday 23 November ahead of a clash with Victory on Friday 29 November which will serve as a curtain-raiser for the Hyundai A-League team’s meeting with the navy-and-whites at AAMI Park.

December, meanwhile, sees Glory return to the West for two home games in which they will face reigning champions Brisbane Roar (Sunday 8 December) and Melbourne Victory (Sunday 22 December), with both games scheduled for 10.30am.

Either side of the New Year, the youngsters visit Adelaide and Brisbane before rounding off the regular-season campaign by hosting Melbourne City on Australia Day (Sunday 26 January at 10.30am).

It’s shaping up to be a fascinating season and FFA’s Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke, is looking forward to seeing the next generation of professional footballers in action.

“The Foxtel Y-League is the perfect proving ground for future professional players,” he said.

“Since the inception of the competition in 2008, we have seen players progress from the Foxtel Y-League to the Hyundai A-League and to the Caltex Socceroos, most notably Rhyan Grant, Daniel Arzani, Awer Mabil and Mat Ryan.

“With almost all of the Foxtel Y-League teams playing in their local NPL competitions during the winter, our top youth players are playing over 30 matches a year which provides the best conditions for them to develop to an elite, professional level.

“We are also in the final stages of our strategy development for season 2020/21 which will deliver an even greater focus on youth development and opportunity.”

Admission to all Foxtel Youth League games is FREE and we’d love to see as many Glory members and fans as possible getting along to support the team.
