New Glory recruit Robbie Fowler needed just 21 minutes to score his first goal for the club in pre-season friendly against Rockingham City.

Read Robbie’s thoughts after the match on:

His first win for the Glory:

“It was not bad. These games are just about getting fitness and it-s been a long time since I-ve played so it-s good to get a run out. I felt alright but it-s early days trying to get myself fit.

“We-ve got a few more weeks before the start of the season so I think the more games we have like this we-ll all be better for it.”

His first goal for Perth:

“It-s always nice scoring goals. It-s more of a confidence thing but as I said before these games are just about getting fitness and making sure no-one gets any injuries, so we-re all pleased thus far.”

His role behind the strikers:

“These games are really just about getting fit so that position was just so I can run about a bit and let my legs loose and get some air in the lungs.

“I enjoy playing there and I feel as though I can play there, but come the start of the season the gaffer will know what team he wants to play and where he wants the players to play so we-ll just have to wait and see.”

The Glory goal spree:

“It was nice. I think the midfield and the forwards all seemed to gel well considering it-s really our first competitive game. It was quite good, a few of them got goals so there-s a confidence (boost) for them there as well.

“You never know what-ll happen in bigger games but it started off on the right note and long may it continue.”
