Superstar Robbie Fowler is set to make his long-awaited debut for Hyundai A-League new boys North Queensland Fury when the side travels to Perth to take part in the Glory-s ‘Football Feast- at Members Equity Stadium.
The Liverpool legend has been hampered by groin and hip injuries since arriving in Australia as Fury-s marquee man however a carefully managed rehab program has him set to play Perth.
“He is over his injuries now. It is just a matter of getting him fit,” said Fury Chairman Don Matheson.
“We are sticking a lot of work into him and he is taking everything that we are throwing at him. If we had run him too early we would have missed him for the first round and then it is chaos.
“He was running around kicking the other day so he is progressing very well.”
North Queensland will take part a massive double header of football at Members Equity Stadium on July 15 when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers (5.15pm kick-off) prior to Perth Glory-s match against Fulham (8.00pm kick-off).
Perth Glory will then have a first look at Folwer and his Fury team mates in a pre-season match at Hyundai Stadium in Mandurah (3.00pm kick-off).
North Queensland is also hoping to be able to add further depth to their squad with experienced players Jacob Timpano, James Robinson and Ufuk Talay set to play against Wolves and the Glory.
