Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that Marianna Tabain has signed with the club for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 Season.

The 28-year-old forward is no stranger to Glory Members and fans having previously enjoyed a hugely-successful spell with the club between 2008 and 2018.

During that decade in purple, Tabain scored 20 times in 89 games and currently sits in second place on the club’s all-time W-League appearances list and third in the all-time leading goalscorer standings.

After two years away from the competition, she is eager to get back into the action under new Head Coach, Alex Epakis.

“I think we’re all really excited to work with and learn from Alex in a new environment,” she said.

“We have a fairly young squad compared to usual, so it’s a challenge, but it’s a good challenge that we’re excited about.

“Obviously we hope to get results and play nice football, but it’s also important that we grow and gel together as a team.”

Epakis, meanwhile, regards Tabain’s return as a major coup for the club.

“Marianna is a fantastic addition to our squad, a well accomplished player and great professional,” he said.

“We are very excited to have her return to the Perth Glory squad for this upcoming season and I am looking forward to working with her.

“I believe she will be an integral part of the squad on and off the field and we are hoping that she can deliver some x-factor in important moments.”

Further player announcements will be made in the coming days and Glory’s Westfield W-League Season will get underway on Tuesday 29 December 2020 when Canberra United will provide the opposition at Dorrien Gardens (kick-off at 6pm).
