Perth Glory will play Melbourne Victory on Friday night in Week 1 of the Hyundai A-League 2013 Finals Series.

In a stunning turnaround, Perth Glory coach Alistair Edwards has guided the team from last to sixth, since he took the reins seven weeks ago. Perth Glory now enter their third Finals Series in four seasons as one of the form teams having recently defeated second placed Central Coast and the third placed Victory.

Perth Glory booked their spot in the Finals Series with a well-deserved 1-all draw against Adelaide United on Saturday night in front of a bumper crowd of 16,707 at nib Stadium.

“I thought that we could make the finals and we-ve beaten most of the teams in the top six or some of the teams we-re going to play against (in the finals),” Edwards said.

“Put it this way, we don-t hold any fears.

“We respect them (the other finals teams) massively, because there are some very good teams and some very well coached teams in this competition.

“But we-re a very good team. We-ve got some great players and the way that we are performing at this present moment – we-ve got a bit of momentum going forward and there-s a bit of a swagger in the way the boys are playing.

“They-re playing with a smile on their faces so why not? We-re going to be out there giving it our best shot.
