The new season always feels just that little bit nearer when the FFA Cup Round of 32 rolls around and we now know that Glory will be hosting Western Sydney Wanderers on a date yet to be confirmed between 23rd July and 7th August.

It will be the second time that we have hosted thew red-and-blacks in this competition having enjoyed a penalty shootout victory over them during the Quarter-Finals in 2015.

Unlike Glory who did, of course, reach the Final in both 2014 and 2015, Wanderers have never progressed that far in the competition, but they did make it to the last four in 2017 and 2018.

In terms of recent Hyundai A-League meetings, meanwhile, Glory claimed five points from the three meetings between the two sides last season, three of which came from the incredible Round 13 clash at HBF Park.

The Glory – Wanderers tie was one of the three all-A-League match-ups that came out of the hat on Wednesday evening as Sydney FC were paired with Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory pitted against the Jets.

Other clashes to look out for include Adelaide United visiting one of Glory’s old NSL foes, Melbourne Knights, Queensland NPL powerhouse club Brisbane Strikers hosting Ufuk Talay’s Wellington and an all-Sydney showdown between St George and Sydney United 58.

It’s shaping up to be a fascinating round of knockout football, so watch this space for full details of our clash with the Wanderers.
