Female Football Week in full flow!

Thumbnail

Female Football Week is in full flow with hundreds of players and coaches across the state attending the range of events on offer.

Last weekend saw a huge turnout at both the Girls Skills Acquisition open training session and the Bankwest Girls Day Out, but if you missed those, it’s not too late to get involved.

For those living in the Northam area, FootballWest is running a Bankwest Regional Girls Big Day Out this Saturday [10th March] and on the same day here in Perth, former FIFA World Cup referee Eddie Lennie will be conducting a free Level 4 Referee course for all females over the age of 14.

Lennie, who is also Football West’s General Manager of Coaching, Refereeing, Education & Development, is hoping to see a rise in the number of female referees in WA in 2018.

“Interest in women’s football is increasing in all aspects of the game,” he said.

“It’s great to see more female officials becoming involved in the game and this course is a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their skills and knowledge in a friendly environment.”
