Double header for Zadkovich

Perth Glory midfielder Ruben Zadkovich is enjoying the off season with a double celebration: his wedding and birthday all on the same day.

The 28-year-old will say “I do” and tie the knot on the 23rd May with his beloved fiancée Bianca.

The pair met in their home state of New South Wales, while Zadkovich was captain for Newcastle Jets. Bianca was working in a little fashion boutique and the pair were introduced.

“Bianca is my rock that I can lean on when I go through tough times” he said.

“She’s a beautiful person, probably the nicest person I’ve ever met.”

After five years together, the couple will celebrate their big day at Darling Harbour in Sydney with all their family and friends, before heading to Hamilton Island and Noosa for a relaxing honeymoon.

Originally from Bulli, a mining suburb in the north of Wollongong, Zadkovich has been home to get everything set for the coming double-header.

In the lead up to his nuptials, he has also been working six days a week to recover from a knee injury that interrupted his 2014/2015 Hyundai A-League season.

Whether it be in the gym, doing pilates or working with the best sports doctors on his troublesome knee joint, Zadkovich is putting in 100-percent into his recovery.

Moving to Perth from Newcastle has been a refreshing sea change for Zadkovich.

An avid surfer and fisherman he loves what Perth has to offer on and off the pitch.

“To walk into a club with a winning mentality with great coaching staff, particularly Kenny has been great” he said.

“He (Kenny) is a good manager and he respects the players” he said.

“I feel blessed to be able to play for a club like Perth Glory”.

Right now the team is on leave until pre-season commences.

The first competitive match for Perth Glory is expected to be at the end of July for the first Westfield FFA cup match.
