Dodd has an abdominal strain and will return to Perth later tonight. The star winger will have a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

“It-s a shame for Travis and the team but we have some very good young West Australians who are ready to step up,” Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson said.

“Adam Taggart has been added to the squad and along with Tommy Amphlett we have two exciting attacking talents.

“Add Josh Risdon, who has been great in the last month, that-s three young locals with bright futures here at Perth Glory.”

The Glory will enter Wednesday-s rescheduled fixture with their confidence sky high following back-to-back wins in Wellington and Melbourne.

Unbeaten In their past four games, Perth Glory are now fifth on the Hyundai A-League table ahead of their third consecutive match on the road.

“The response from the players has been excellent,” Ferguson added as the squad departed Melbourne this afternoon.

“The football we are playing has been good but we need to be more ruthless with the chances we are creating.”

Wednesday-s clash with Sydney FC kicks-off at 2.30pm (AWST) before the Glory return to Perth to host Harry Kewell-s Melbourne Victory on Sunday at nib Stadium. Kick-off is 4.30pm.
