Discussing Perth Glory’s Festive Fixtures

Thumbnail

While fans spend time with their loved ones during the festive season, often our Perth Glory FC players are on the road preparing for a Boxing Day or News Years clash.

It’s often the story for Perth Glory, having played at least one away game between December 25 and January 1 in each of the last five Hyundai A-League seasons. Last season, the club faced Melbourne City at AAMI Park on December 27 and Western Sydney Wanderers at ANZ Stadium on January 1.

During away trips, players are often forced to spend Christmas away from their families and friends, a feat they manage every year with little complaint.

However, it still remains a discussion point argued among past and present players and one that particularly peaked the interest of Perth Glory defender Alex Grant ahead of the 2017/18 Season Fixtures reveal.

Goalkeeper Liam Reddy had a chuckle about the topic but also expressed his belief Glory should get more home matches during this period.

Finally, ex-Perth Glory striker Daniel McBreen suggested its a fate Glory should be expected to face in each season’s fixtures.
