DiBernardo's fine form continues with Chicago Red Stars

Following a highly successful stint with the Perth Glory Women's team last season claiming the Golden Boot from only eight appearances, Vanessa DiBernardo is back-firing for her hometown club Chicago Stars in the NWSL.

DiBernardo hit the ground running for Perth with a brace on her debut against Brisbane Roar and went on to be a key figure for the side and the American has continued her rich vein of form with her side currently topping the ladder.

Despite revelling in an advanced attacking position for Glory, the 2012 U20 World Cup winner has been deployed in a deeper midfield role back in Chicago, a role she is relishing with the first placed side.

Having won the W-League goal-of-the-year with her wonder strike against the Roar during her winter loan stint, the Illinois native has been labeled as the club's most consistent player by head coach Rory Dames following a string of inspiring performances.

DiBernardo became known for her determination, tireless running, and creation of opportunities at Glory and this is no different with her local side having notched two assists in the club's most recent fixture against bottom-placed Boston Dash in a 3-0 win.

The 24-year-old will captain the NWSL side when Chicago's Olympic stars jet off to Rio, a privilege the midfielder has earned through an impressive first half of the campaign delivering three assists.

DiBernardo will be hoping the scintillating form of her title-chasing side and her own exploits continue as the Red Stars approach the pointy end of the season.
