Daniel de Silva joins Roda JC Kerkrade

Roda JC Kerkrade has agreed to terms with Perth Glory FC on a loan deal for Daniel de Silva.

The 18 year old attacking midfielder has been loaned to the Dutch club for two seasons.

The creative playmaker will join former Glory midfielder Rostyn Griffiths at his new club.

De Silva made his debut in the Hyundai A-league as the second youngest player ever at only 15 years of age and made a total of 33 first team appearances for the club.

De Silva has also represented Australia at youth level on numerous occasions including a man of the match performance in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup scoring a goal as a 16 year old in a 1-1 draw with Colombia.

He is currently on the cusp of a Socceroos debut after having made the initial squad for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Roda JC Kerkrade Managing Director Wim Collard was verypleased to have a young talent like De Silva join the club.

 “We are very pleased that Daniel has come to enforce our team. We can use him for several positions on the midfield and internationally he is known for his great talent. I expect that he will bring us a lot of joy and success in the coming two seasons.”

Perth Glory CEO Peter Filopoulos wished the prodigious Western Australian talent well at his new Dutch home.
