Perth Glory-s commitment to WA players has continued with Jamie Coyne and Todd Howarth re-signing new deals with the club.

Coyne, a former Perth Glory captain played 23 games in 2009/10 while Howarth – in his debut season in Hyundai A-League – featured in 26 and scored 2 goals.

With Howarth and Coyne both growing up in the northern suburbs, the Glory is delighted to now have 12 local players on board for next season.

Howarth, a left-sided midfielder grew up playing his junior football with Wanneroo and Hamersley before spending 9 seasons with Perth while Coyne started his junior career with Sorrento before also joining Perth.

Coyne displayed great versatility last season, playing a variety of roles in midfield and defence.

After starting the first 8 games of the season on the bench, Howarth became a key figure in Dave Mitchell-s starting 11 as he combined with Naum Sekulovski on the left side. In a stunning first year, the 28 year old missed just one game and played in his first final.

The Glory has now re-signed four players in the off-season with Coyne and Howarth following Harnwell and McGarry.

With 20 players signed for the 2010/11 season, Perth Glory has three spots to fill on the playing roster.

Pre-season training begins in May.
