Colli to skipper PGFC Academy First Team in 2021 NPLWA campaign

NPL Captaincy Event - Gio Colli, Chris Donnell and Diego Castro

Giordano Colli has been confirmed as the PGFC Academy First Team skipper for the 2021 NPLWA campaign.

The appointment caps a memorable 12 months for the creative midfielder who took out the NPLWA Men’s Gold Medal last season before making his senior Glory debut against Shanghai Shenhua in the AFC Champions League.

Colli was presented with the armband, on what was his 21st birthday, by current A-League club skipper Diego Castro, with 17-year-old Chris Donnell marking his impressively swift rise through the ranks by being named vice-captain.

Following the presentation, we caught up with both players for a chat and also spoke to their PGFC Academy teammates Ciaran Bramwell and Aidan Edwards.

You can both clips in full here, plus footage of Castro discussing leadership with Glory A-League 2nd Assistant and NPL and Y-League Head Coach, Ruben Zadkovich.
