Perth Glory FC has recorded its biggest win in its Hyundai A-League history after a dominant 6-1 victory over a 10-man Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium.

Glory went into the match looking for its sixth straight win over Newcastle and it came thanks to individual braces from Chris Harold and Diego Castro, a solid header from birthday boy Alex Grant and an own Jets goal.

Newcastle’s Milos Trifunovic opened the scoring for the home team in the 14th minute after he headed home from a David Carney corner.

But ten minutes later Glory equalised through a Chris Harold header after receiving a sublime left foot cross from Risdon on the right flank.

Glory went 2-1 up just before half-time after Castro outfoxed his defender and shot past Jets ‘keeper Mark Birighitti.

Nigel Boogaard brought Glory defender Josh Risdon on the stroke of half-time to earn his second yellow card and was shown his marching orders from referee Shaun Evans

In the second 45, some clinical finsihing from Harold, Castro and courtesy an own goal, helped Glory to its 12th undefeated match against the Jets; The result for Glory equalled the Hyundai A-League record for the most consecutive games undefeated against an opponent.

Glory heads home to nib Stadium next Saturday night to host current Hyundai A-League champions Melbourne Victory.
