There was a large turnout of both dignitaries and media at Hay Park earlier today as details of Glory’s upcoming Westfield W-League fixture at the Bunbury venue and the various community initiatives surrounding it were revealed.

Glory skipper and Matildas star Sam Kerr was on hand, along with W-League Head Coach, Bobby Despotovski and club CEO Peter Filopoulos, while WA Minster for Sport and Recreation, Mick Murray, Football West’s Head of Strategy and Partnerships, Jonathan Cook and the Mayor of the City of Bunbury, Gary Brennan, also attended.

In addition to the Round 12 clash with Canberra United on Saturday January 20th, Soccer Clinics will be held in Bunbury, Busselton and Dunsborough, offering a chance to meet our W-League players, including Kerr and new recruits Rachel Hill, Amanda Frisbie and Raquel Rodriguez.

Club legend Despotovski, meanwhile, will also be hosting a ‘Coach the Coaches’ clinic in Bunbury on the Friday preceding the game.

It promises to be an unforgettable three days of football and fun in the south-west and Glory CEO Peter Filopoulos is thrilled at the prospect.

“It’s a fantastic to have this opportunity for such extensive community engagement in the south-west region,” he said.

“Football is a really important part of the community in Bunbury, Busselton and Dunsborough and we’re delighted to be bringing our Westfield W-League team down in January.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the incredible support for this initiative that we have received from the City of Bunbury, Football West and the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.”

For just $50, you can see all our remaining five W-League fixtures, including the Hay Park game and gain admission to the two Westfield W-League/Hyundai A-League double headers at no extra cost!
