Perth Glory Women have signed 27-year-old defender Danielle Brogan from Adelaide United on a one-year-deal.

With seven caps for the Matildas, Brogan has previously represented Sydney FC and Adelaide United in the Westfield W-League, while also enjoying a stint at Notts County Ladies FC in England.

The Sydney-born defender has also appeared several times in Australia’s youth ranks, playing in the 2004 and 2006 FIFA World U19 Women’s Championships in Thailand and Russia.

Brogan becomes Glory Women’s 4th new signing this season, joining Matilda Kim Carroll, American midfielder Nikki Stanton and ex-Victory midfielder Ella Mastrantonio in moving West this season.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to put the boots on for another W-League season and I’m looking forward to kicking off Round one in Melbourne this Saturday. It’s been really refreshing working with Bobby and with some new and old faces in this year’s squad, everyone has been very welcoming!

With 49 Westfield W-League caps over six seasons, Brogan brings a wealth of defensive experience and stability to an attack-driven Perth Glory line-up including Matildas Samantha Kerr, Caitlin Foord and Mackenzie Arnold.

She will most likely partner fellow signing Kim Carroll in the heart of defence, who has arrived from Brisbane Roar.

Perth Glory Women will be looking to go one better from last season, winning the 2015 Westfield W-League Premiership, before falling just short of the Championship with a 3-1 loss to Canberra United in the Grand Final.
